The iPhone 16 series was released around 10 days ago, and since then, third parties have conducted various tests, including benchmarks. Recently, Tom's Guide published a list of the best smartphones in terms of battery life, and unsurprisingly, two of the new iPhone models made the list.
According to the report, the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro topped the chart, offering an impressive 18 hours and 48 minutes of battery life between charges. It was followed by the OnePlus 12R with a battery life of 18 hours and 42 minutes. The iPhone 16 Pro Max secured third place with 18 hours and 6 minutes between charges.
Battery Life of iPhone 16 Models
Tom's Guide conducted its tests by continuously browsing the internet over a 5G network until the phone powered off due to a depleted battery. The iPhone 16 Pro Max ranked third, while the iPhone 16 Plus scored slightly lower with 16 hours and 29 minutes of battery life.
Other Phones in the Test
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra achieved a battery life of 16 hours and 45 minutes, while phones like the Nothing Phone 2a and Google Pixel 9 Pro XL performed lower, with battery lives around 14 to 15 hours. Apple has clearly done a great job improving battery performance, especially with the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Based on these tests, it's clear that Apple has enhanced battery performance in the iPhone 16 series, delivering on its promise of longer-lasting devices.
