At the end of last year, Google introduced the Gemini model, its most advanced AI model to date. This innovative generative AI comes in four distinct versions: Gemini Advanced, Gemini Pro, Gemini Ultra, and Gemini Nano. The latter, Gemini Nano, is the most restricted version of the four. Initially, it was only available on Google Pixel devices, but a recent leak confirmed it will also be compatible with smartphones from other brands. Below, we list all the Android phones that will support Gemini Nano.
A recent report by Android Police confirms that Gemini Nano, the lightweight version of Google's AI capable of running AI functions locally without an internet connection, is already available on more Android smartphones beyond Google's Pixel and Samsung Galaxy S24.
Thus, the basic Gemini Nano version is now available on a total of 15 phones from Google, Samsung, Motorola, Xiaomi, and Realme, which we detail below:
- Google Pixel 8
- Google Pixel 8 Pro
- Google Pixel 8a
- Motorola Edge 50 Ultra
- Motorola Razr 50 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy S24
- Samsung Galaxy S24+
- Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy S24 FE
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6
- Xiaomi 14T
- Xiaomi 14T Pro
- Xiaomi MIX Flip
- Realme GT 6
Similarly, the more advanced version of Gemini Nano, which supports multimedia and has greater AI processing capabilities, is only compatible with the four devices in the new Pixel 9 family:
- Google Pixel 9
- Google Pixel 9 Pro
- Google Pixel 9 Pro XL
- Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold
Unfortunately, this multimedia version of Gemini Nano is not expected to be available on non-Google Pixel smartphones. For now, other brands will have to settle for the basic version of Gemini Nano.
